On this 3-days Gorilla Habituation experience Safari to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to encounter the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat within the dense rainforest. Your Gorilla Habituation safari will start with travelling southwards to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. The road trip to Bwindi will offer you stunning views of Uganda’s rural landscapes and small urban centers, featuring vibrant vegetable markets and local artisans crafting drums and crafts along the roadside. You’ll have the chance to stop at Uganda’s Equator monument, where you can stand with one foot in the northern hemisphere and the other in the southern hemisphere—a memorable photo opportunity! After this unique experience, your safari guide will take you to Mbarara for a delicious lunch before continuing on to Bwindi. Along the way, you’ll enjoy short bathroom breaks and moments to capture the breathtaking scenery. Arriving in Bwindi in the evening, you’ll check in at your lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
The gorilla habituation experience takes place in the Rushaga sector, located in the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After enjoying an early morning breakfast, your safari guide will lead you to the briefing point, where you’ll receive important guidelines on gorilla habituation etiquette. This unique adventure allows you to spend up to 4 hours with the mountain gorillas, giving you ample time to learn about their lifestyle and behaviors in the rainforest. The goal of this activity is to help the gorillas acclimate to human presence in their habitat, preparing them for future gorilla trekking.
In the evening after relaxing you will go for a visit to the Batwa community in the Rushaga sector, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn about the rich culture and traditions of this indigenous group. Engage with community members as they share their stories, demonstrate traditional crafts, and showcase their unique way of life. You may participate in cultural activities such as traditional dance and music, gaining insights into the deep connection the Batwa have with the forest and their history as forest dwellers and after that experience you will go back to the lodge for dinner and relaxation
After your memorable experiences in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, your safari guide will prepare for the journey back to Kampala. The transfer typically takes about 8-10 hours, offering scenic views of Uganda’s diverse landscapes, including rolling hills, lush valleys, and charming rural communities. You’ll have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, where you can savor local cuisine and take a moment to relax. Along the route, expect short breaks for bathroom stops and opportunities to capture stunning photographs of the picturesque scenery. As you approach Kampala, you’ll have time to reflect on the incredible adventures and wildlife encounters you’ve experienced in Bwindi. Upon arrival, your guide will assist you with your next steps, whether it’s a hotel check-in or transfer to the airport for your departure.
