Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival and Transfer to your Hotel

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your experienced driver-guide, who will assist you with your luggage and escort you to a comfortable vehicle for the transfer to your hotel. As you journey through scenic landscapes, your guide will share insights about the area and interesting facts about Uganda’s rich culture and history. Once you arrive at your hotel, you’ll check in and have the evening to relax and unwind, perhaps enjoying the amenities or savoring a delicious meal at the hotel restaurant, all in preparation for the exciting adventures that await you in Uganda.

Day 2Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, we’ll set off from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, we’ll make a stop at the Equator, where you can participate in an intriguing equator experiment that showcases the unique balance experienced at this geographical landmark. You’ll also have the chance to explore local crafts, including traditional drums and handmade items. Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at Lake Mburo National Park, home to large herds of zebra, impala, eland, and a variety of other wildlife. The park is also renowned for its exceptional birdwatching opportunities, making it a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts to appreciate the diverse avian species that inhabit the area.

Day 3Game Drive and Boat Cruise

On this exciting day after enjoying your breakfast, you’ll go for a thrilling morning game drive, exploring the park’s diverse landscapes and encountering large herds of zebra, impala, eland, and other wildlife up close, guided by your knowledgeable driver who will share fascinating insights about the ecosystem. After the drive, you’ll embark on a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you can spot hippos basking in the sun, crocodiles lounging on the banks, and a stunning array of birdlife, including herons and kingfishers. Day 4Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

After breakfast, you can choose between a guided nature walk, horse back riding or a bicycle tour to get closer to the wildlife .and then embark on the journey to Mgahinga National Park, which is Known for its three distinct volcanoes, Mgahinga also offers opportunities to encounter rare mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. As we journey through the stunning rolling hills of southwestern Uganda, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the beautiful landscape. Following lunch, we’ll proceed to Kisoro town, where you can relax for the rest of the day or, if time allows, visit the serene Lake Mutanda or immerse yourself in the unique culture of the Batwa people, enhancing your experience in this captivating region.

Day 5Volcano climbing

After a hearty morning breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for an essential briefing, where you’ll choose which of the three majestic volcanoes to summit. Each volcano offers its own unique allure for instance, Mount Sabinyo, the most challenging, grants the rare opportunity to stand at the intersection of three countries—Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Uganda—accessible only from the Ugandan side. Mount Muhabura, the tallest of the trio, boasts a stunning crater lake at its summit, while Mount Gahinga is known for its enchanting swamp. The journey is a rewarding eight-hour round trip, with the duration depending on your physical fitness and pace. As you prepare for this adventure, remember to pack plenty of drinking water, warm clothing, and rain gear, as the weather can change unexpectedly during your hike. Day 6Lake Bunyonyi Visit

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Lake Bunyonyi, located in the picturesque Kabale district. Renowned as the deepest lake in Uganda and the second deepest in Africa, Lake Bunyonyi offers a serene escape perfect for relaxation after your hike. Enjoy a refreshing boat cruise that will take you to some of the 29 islands scattered across the lake, each rich with its own unique history and charm. Alternatively, you can choose to hike the lush hills surrounding the lake for stunning views or indulge in some birdwatching, as the area is home to a diverse array of bird species. Day 7Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After your time at Lake Bunyonyi, you’ll transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its lush landscapes and rich biodiversity. As you journey through the breathtaking scenery of southwestern Uganda, you’ll be surrounded by rolling hills and dense forests, setting the stage for the incredible experiences that await you. Day 8Gorilla Tracking experience

After a delicious breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the gorilla tracking information office for an essential briefing with the park warden and rangers at 8 AM. Following this, the experienced rangers will guide you into the enchanting forest to begin your unforgettable adventure tracking the majestic mountain gorillas. Be sure to carry a packed lunch, as the tracking time can vary from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Day 9Batwa Cultural Trails

Today, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to engage with one of the oldest indigenous tribes, the Batwa pygmies, in what promises to be one of the most exciting experiences in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Known as “The Keepers of the Forest,” the Batwa once thrived in harmony with the lush surroundings, relying on their deep knowledge of the forest to hunt, gather plants, and forage for fruits. They constructed temporary huts from leaves and branches, moving frequently in search of fresh food sources, and coexisted peacefully with the wildlife, including the majestic mountain gorillas. Day 11Explore Queen Elizabeth with a Game drive and a Boat cruise

After an early morning breakfast, you’ll embark on an exhilarating game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you’ll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including lions, Cape buffalo, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, spotted hyenas, mongooses, and perhaps even a elusive leopard if luck is on your side. With over 600 bird species recorded in the park, particularly along the picturesque Kazinga Channel, it’s a true birdwatcher’s paradise. After your morning adventure, return for a delicious lunch, where you can relax and recharge for an exciting afternoon ahead. Following lunch, you’ll transfer to the Kazinga Channel for a unique two-hour boat cruise, offering an incredible opportunity for close-up photography and relaxed wildlife viewing. As you glide along the water, enjoy the sights and sounds of the channel, where you can spot animals like hippos and crocodiles, as well as a variety of bird species, making this cruise a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility.

Day 12Transfer to Kibale Forest National Game Park

After breakfast, you’ll set off for Kibale Forest National Park, stopping for a delightful cultural tour in Fort Portal town along the way. Here, you’ll visit the Tooro Kingdom Palace, home to the youngest king in the world, and the Karambi Tombs, where you can explore the rich history of the region. Day 13Chimp tracking experience and Bigodi wetland walk

After an early morning breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the information center for a briefing by the park warden and ranger guides before embarking on your adventure into the rainforest in search of chimpanzees. These agile primates are highly mobile, making their viewing unpredictable, but the enriching forest walk, lasting about 3 to 5 hours, promises to be a rewarding experience. As you navigate through the lush greenery, keep an eye out for other fascinating primates, including L’Hoest’s monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red colobus, and red-tailed monkeys, along with a variety of vibrant birds and butterflies. You’ll return to the lodge in time for lunch, and in the afternoon, you can enjoy a captivating walk in Bigodi Swamp, where you can spot even more primates and birds. Day 14Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early morning breakfast, we’ll set off for Murchison Falls National Park, embarking on an approximately 8-9 hour drive through the stunning Albertine Escarpment of the Western Arm of the East African Rift Valley. As we traverse this picturesque landscape, you’ll enjoy views of lush countryside and traditional homesteads, providing a glimpse into the local way of life.

Depending on your chosen lodge and your arrival time in the park, you may have the opportunity to visit the spectacular top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River dramatically plunges through a narrow gorge. After this breathtaking experience, you’ll head to your lodge to check in and unwind, readying yourself for the adventures that await in this remarkable national park.

Day 15Game drive and Boat cruise/ Hike

After enjoying an early morning cup of tea or coffee, you’ll set off for a thrilling game drive on the northern bank of Murchison Falls National Park, where you’ll search for magnificent wildlife, including lions, leopards, giraffes, oribis, elephants, Jackson’s hartebeests, Uganda kobs, and buffaloes, alongside a variety of bird species. After an exhilarating morning in the wild, you’ll return to your lodge in time for lunch, where you can relax and recharge for the exciting afternoon ahead. Following lunch, you’ll embark on a scenic three-hour boat ride on the Nile River to the base of the falls. Day 16Launch Trip to the delta

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic boat trip to the delta of the Nile River, where it meets Lake Albert. After breakfast, you’ll set off for an enriching tour of Jinja town, starting with a visit to the iconic Source of the Nile. Along the way, we’ll make a stop at the breathtaking Ssezibwa Falls, a spiritual and cultural center where many locals flock to seek blessings, wealth, and good fortune. The falls are adorned with sharp-edged rocks and the soothing sounds of cascading water, surrounded by medicinal trees and a diverse array of bird species, creating a serene and picturesque environment. Continuing to Jinja, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch before embarking on a scenic boat trip to the Source of the Nile. Here, you’ll witness the river beginning its incredible three-month journey toward the Mediterranean Sea. After this unforgettable experience, we’ll head back to Kampala, allowing you to reflect on the day’s adventures and the natural beauty you’ve encountered.

Day 19Kampala city tour

After breakfast, you’ll have the opportunity to explore some of Kampala’s standout attractions, beginning with a visit to the impressive Old Kampala Mosque, which offers panoramic views of the city. You’ll also visit the beautiful cathedrals that reflect Uganda’s rich religious heritage, and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of local markets, where you can experience the hustle and bustle of daily life and perhaps pick up some unique items. The highlight of your tour will be the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, a site of profound historical and cultural significance, commemorating those who lost their lives for their faith. You’ll then head to the East African Craft Village, where you can browse an array of handcrafted items and souvenirs, perfect for remembering your trip.
