This safari will take you through Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area where you can only clearly view Towers of gentle Giraffes, Buffalo herds, Uganda Kobs, The Nile delta and of course one of the world’s strongest waterfalls, during your launch trip to the bottom of the falls. In the north, Kidepo valley national park will definitely define your African safari with exclusive wildlife in the remote Karamoja region. This tour will likely take you through the African Big Five during your Rhino Tracking tour at Ziwa Rhino. In the extreme west, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo will definitely offer you a unique experience.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe, (optional Kampala city tour depending on arrival time)
On arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be met by our company guide and professional Garilla mist safaris, driver who will transfer you to Kampala. The dinner, refreshment and accommodation at will be at Munyonyo Common Wealth Resort Hotel
Day 2: Kampala to Kitgum
Early morning, the Garilla mist safaris’ driver will pick you from your hotel and brief you before heading to Kitgum in the northern part of Uganda. You will have a quick lunch stop and then continue to kitgum checking late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Boma Hotel Kitgum
Day 3: Kitgum to Kidepo Valley National park
After an early breakfast, you will head to Kidepo valley national park passing through villages and farm fields. Upon arrival in the park, you will check in and have lunch after. Kidepo ranks among Africa’s finest wilderness with exclusive wild animals such as Cheetahs, ostriches, elands, Hartebeests, Roan antelope among others. From Apoka, the heart of the park a savannah landscape extends in all directions, towards the horizon outlined by distant mountain ranges. On this day you will have an evening game drive and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Nga’Moru Wilderness camp.
Day 4: Kidepo Morning game drive and transfer to Gulu.
Start with an early breakfast and then go for a morning game drive along the trails of Kidepo valley. The park inhabits one of the most exciting faunas of any Ugandan parks, with over 80 species of mammals several of which are endemic to Kidepo like Cheetah, the stripped hyena, the Ostrich and the Caracal plus over 465 bird species. Return for lunch and relaxation and later transfer to Gulu. Dinner and overnight at Gulu Churchill Courts hotel.
Day 5: Gulu to Murchison Falls National park- evening game drive
After breakfast, you will head out to through Gulu as you proceed to Murchison falls national park through the northern sector with lunch at Red Chilli Hideaway. You will have an evening game drive in Murchison falls where you will see Giraffes, Uganda Kobs at the Lek plain, and Hippos on the Nile delta. Come back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 6: Game drive and a boat trip to the bottom of the falls-Also hike to the top of the falls.
After breakfast, you will go for a 3-4 hour game drive and expect to see wild animals like African Elephants, Antelopes such as Oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest, Uganda Kobs among others. You will then come back for lunch and thereafter go for a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls and also do a hike to the top of the falls where you will be met by your driver guide back relaxation, dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 7: Murchison falls - Zziwa Rhino sanctuary with a nature walk
After an early breakfast, drive southwards to Ziwa rhino and wildlife ranch in Nakasongola district which is the only place where you can see rhinos in Uganda and are moreover tracked on foot with up close contact. On arrival, you will have a nature walk around the accommodation facility and have lunch. You will go for Rhino tracking. You will also have a guided nature walk around the lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Amuka safari Lodge.
Day 8: Transfer from Ziwa to Fort Portal
After breakfast, drive to Fort Portal with en route lunch. Pass through tea plantations and undulating green hills in the backdrop of Rwenzori Mountains. Check in at the hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel.
Day 9: Fort portal to Queen Elizabeth national park for a boat cruise.
Have breakfast, check out and proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park referred to as the medley of wonders. Arriving in mid morning as you pass through dotted savanna, plains inhabited by elephant herds, cape buffalos, Lions and many antelope species. Check in and have an optional nature walk around the lodge. You will go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel where you will see Hippos yawning, Nile crocodiles basking, different wild animals that gather to drink water and many water birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Park View Safari lodge
Day 10: Morning game drive and a community walk.
Have breakfast and then go for a game drive which will yield seeing African Elephants, Topis, Uganda kobs, etc. Come back for lunch and later embark on a community walk. Enjoy the African way of life which will include dances, storytelling etc. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Park View Safari Lodge
Day 11: Ishasha sector for tree climbing Lions and transfer Bwindi National park
Check out and drive to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth national park, in the Ishasha sector. This is the home of tree climbing Lions which are seen in the afternoon resting on Fig trees or down the thorny savanna acacia. You will have packed lunch and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Gorilla Mist camp.
Day 12: Gorilla tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up relatively early for a hearty breakfast to give you energy needed for gorilla tracking. The guide will drive you to the park headquarters for registration and also to receive short briefings about the dos and don’ts while with these giants. After, set deep into the forest following the ranger guide to begin the gorilla tracking experience. This trek can take from half an hour to 8 hours so a reasonable degree of fitness is needs as well as tracking gears like sturdy pair of walking shoes, long sleeved shirts and blouses. Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, it’s really a breathtaking moment sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with the few remaining mountain gorillas in the world. After this delightful activity, get back to the lodge for late lunch. You will then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an evening canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Eco Resort
Day 13: Batwa people tour and transfer to Lake Mburo National park for an evening game drive.
On this day, you will have a community walk where you will encounter the life of the ancient forest pygmies, the Batwa. Return to the lodge for lunch and later drive to Lake Mburo national park and take a game view as you drive to your hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge.
Day 14: Early morning Drive – Transfer to Kampala via Mbarara
Get up early to have a chance of seeing leopards, water bucks, Zebras and birds in a day break jungle1 have breakfast and check out. Embark on an exciting road trip back to Kampala with a stopover at Igongo cultural centre in Mbarara for lunch arriving Kampala in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge.
Day 15: Transfer to Entebbe for your flight back.
After breakfast, you will check out and be transferred to Entebbe International airport to board your flight back.
